PLP!
Victory is in the air.
Can’t you feel it?
Nassau, Bahamas - Enclosed are remarks given by Philip Davis at the
opening of the PLP Elizabeth Constituency branch Headquarters on Commonwealth Boulevard on 1st February,
2010.
Party Leader, Party Chairman,
Parliamentary Colleagues, the next Member of Parliament for the
Constituency of Elizabeth, Mr. Ryan Pinder and Mrs. Pinder, the good
people of Elizabeth and PLP Supporters Good Evening.
The message is being sent loud and clear! Bahamians have had
enough of the FNM. We have had enough of the foolishness. Bahamians
are tired of the double talk.
Elizabeth is ready to send Hubert Ingraham to his retirement once and for all.
The Bahamas is ready for a bright future. A new day is here.
Elizabeth the future is now and it begins with you. The future of the
Bahamas is Leo Ryan Pinder and the PLP!
Elizabeth, in two weeks
you begin the march to a new Bahamas! Ryan Pinder represents the new
Bahamas! He represents the best that the Bahamas and the Progressive
Liberal Party has to offer.
The FNM’s campaign is full of old venom. All they talk about is
the PLP! We have been out of office for almost three years. Yet their
campaign is focused on when the PLP was Government. Someone needs to
send them a memo. Let them know that they are presently the Government
of the Bahamas!
Stop trying to deflect! The smoke and mirrors will not work in
Elizabeth! If they are so proud of the job they are doing then talk
about it!
Let the people know of the mass confusion in the
Cabinet! Hubert Ingraham here is your opportunity to talk about record
unemployment and crime. Let the people know about Bahamians being sent
home daily!
Let them know of the foreigners being brought in daily to do jobs
Bahamians are qualified to do! Let them know of the Bahamians living
in darkness! Let them know of the contracts you are taking from young
Bahamians.
Let them know how the Prime Minister does not consult anyone when
he makes decisions! Let them know of all the debt that our children
and grandchildren will be taxed to the high heavens to pay back.
Explain why the international agencies are downgrading our economy!
Tell the people why you have no answers to the problems we are facing!
Hubert Ingraham here is your chance! Mr. Prime Minister stand by your record!
All
the brother doing is dodging and running. He is dancing around the
results of his governance! And Lord knows, he aint a good dancer!
They must account to the people of Elizabeth for the hell so many of you are catching daily!
People are interested in the issues facing them. Keep the rhetoric and the PLP talk for later.
The people of Elizabeth need answers and solutions. They want a better community!
It is time to put an end to old style politics. The people of Elizabeth are interested in building up and not tearing down.
Let
us not become over confident. Let us continue to preach the message of
the future. We must continue to knock on doors! We must campaign like
we have never campaigned before!
Some may tell you that this is just a by-election. They will tell you
that nothing will change after February 16th. But they are wrong!
There is much at stake.
This
by-election is about the future of our country. It is about sending a
clear message to Hubert Ingraham and the FNM! It is about reclaiming
the Bahamas for all! It is about putting an end to greed and
incompetence! It is about fighting for the small man!
As we open this headquarters tonight I am happy for the people of
Elizabeth! With your hardwork and our message of building a better
future together we can make a better Elizabeth! Yes we can!
This
headquarters here tonight represents so much. Indeed it will play a
major role as you partner with Ryan Pinder and the PLP to build a
safer, more prosperous Elizabeth.
Tonight I am proud to stand with Leo Ryan Pinder. I am proud to
stand with my leader Perry Christie and the PLP. I am proud to be
PLP. A new day is here.
Stand with us , Elizabeth. Be brave and vote for Ryan Pinder and the PLP!
