Nassau, Bahamas - Last week a radio station broadcast details about a purported incident in the Cabinet in which then Minister of State Branville McCartney was said to have stormed out of the room and was subsequently locked out.

The FNM is reluctant to respond to the rumour mongering that usually surrounds political developments in this country, but when an elaborate and totally fabricated story is broadcast as news by a supposedly responsible media house then a response is necessary.

At no time did the alleged events reported by the radio station take place.  Furthermore, nothing even remotely resembling that account ever took place.  The FNM regards the peddling of such unfounded fabrications as utterly irresponsible and a disservice to the Bahamian public.

We call on the relevant media house to retract and apologize for this piece of malicious rumour mongering.
