NORTH ELEUTHERA, I have come with one powerful message.
NORTH ELEUTHERA...YOUR CHANGE HAS COME!!!
Good evening Spanish Wells and Bahamians Everywhere.
I thank the Almighty God for all His blessings on our country and His influence on my life. Let us continue to pray and work for a peaceful election.
Brothers and Sisters:
I want SPANISH WELLS AND NORTH ELEUTHERA to be a part of the wave of change moving all across our nation. As I travel our beautiful Bahamaland, New Providence is RED; Grand Bahama is RED; Bimini and Abaco are RED; Exuma, Cat Island, MICAL, and YES Eleuthera are all RED RED RED!!!! The Bahamas is presently experiencing a RED TSUNAMI or as we in Andros say ITS A RED SALAMI!!
LET ME TELL YOU, I have now received the formal report on the state of the general election. The report is based on information from every constituency with specific numbers. I formally report to you that the FREE NATIONAL MOVEMENT will form the next government of The Bahamas.
North Eleuthera and Bahamians Everywhere:
Do not be fooled by the PLP. If the PLP was ready to give away our land, our birthright, and our fish stocks to foreigners this term; imagine what they will give away next time. We must not allow the PLP to get their hands on another dollar of our VAT Money!!
Perry Gladstone Christie has presided over the most corrupt; the most incompetent; the most victimizing; the most out of control; and the most malicious government since independence. It is time for change. We need a prime minister who can actually stay awake. Christie is literally falling asleep on the job.
VOTE HIM OUT... because he ignored your will, and ignored the people’s will, in the gambling referendum. VOTE HIM OUT... because he failed to introduce comprehensive National Health Insurance. The primary care roll out is more about public relations than reality.
We support a workable and sustainable National Health Insurance, and we will introduce a Catastrophic Health Insurance Plan. VOTE CHRISTIE OUT, because he failed to lead, and he allowed Alfred Gray to interfere in the court system; VOTE HIM OUT, because he has failed to account for 1 billion dollars of our VAT money and mismanaged our economy. VOTE HIM OUT -- because Christie will forever go down in history as the Prime Minister who disrespected the Bahamian people, and the dignity of his office by sticking up his vulgar middle finger at us.
Because of Christie’s lack of leadership, Wayne Munroe, thought it was okay to tell people to kiss his you know what. Well, we ain’t nasty like him.
FNMs, Fellow Bahamians:
Unlike the PLP, I am not going to promise things my government cannot deliver. I have a clear philosophy of leadership and some guiding values and principles. Unlike Christie, I will hold my ministers responsible.
Jerome Fitzgerald knew that Christie’s cabinet could do whatever they want. He blatantly went about begging for contracts at Baha Mar. What he did was in clear violation of cabinet rules of conduct and standards. Of course, the PLP have little to no standards left. What is equally as disgraceful as Jerome begging for contracts, is the reaction after he was found out. He didn’t apologize or express regret. He danced and pranced. Even worse, Perry has said nothing. Not a word. But his silence says it all! Jerome should have been fired. If they win he will put Jerome right back in the cabinet so he can beg someone else for contracts.
FNMS, Bahamians everywhere!!!
In the FNM we are different. We are the party of good governance and public service. YES, SERVICE, this is what TRUE leadership is all about. Perry Christie and the PLP have forgotten this. BUT HIS SEASON IS UP!! HIS TIME IS UP!! COME MAY 10TH FINALLY IT WILL BE THE PEOPLES TIME!!!!
Because the FNM believes in the people, we will reform and modernize local government. We will also amend existing legislation and policies to enhance and increase the authority of Family Island Local Government.
In Spanish Wells, we will ALWAYS protect your fishing industry FOR BAHAMIANS!!! Rest assured that my FNM administration will always protect our fishing industry from foreigners who wish to rape our waters. Our forefathers would be turning over in their graves if they knew the PLP were even discussing foreigners fishing in our waters. Under the FNM, foreigner and fishing will not even be in the same sentence!! NOT IN OUR BAHAMAS; NOT ON MY WATCH!!!
We will also ensure that there are always sufficient resources to enable our Defence Force to protect you and our precious fishing industry. Spanish Wells, We know about your portable water concerns and will work towards smart solutions in the shortest time.
On the main land, North Eleuthera, No longer will you be neglected!!! In our new Bahamas, we have a plan which focuses on your Family Island development.
People of North Eleuthera, I know you want to work. A new FNM government will work hard to bring investment, jobs and more economic opportunity to allow more employment on the main land. We will create opportunities with a view to encouraging your young people to remain home and allow those who have left to return home.
North Eleuthera, We are building a new Bahamas. Many of you are deeply concerned about healthcare on the island in particular the Clinic at Gregory Town and The Bluff. There are issues regarding proper equipment, adequate staff, and fulfilling pharmaceutical needs. It cannot be right that our seniors must travel to Spanish Wells for essential medicine. As a doctor and as the former Minister of Health, your health care needs will be front and center in my government.
BECAUSE IT’S THE PEOPLE’S TIME NOW!!!
In Education, every young person from our Family Islands including Spanish Wells and all of North Eleuthera, irrespective of the place of residence, economic status, disability, ethnicity, or creed should have equal access to the best education that the country offers, according to his or her ability.
All of your students who qualify for the University of The Bahamas will be assisted with accommodations and provided with a monthly stipend to assist with living costs. We will work aggressively with the University of The Bahamas to allow each and every qualified Bahamian student free education. We will ensure that all of the necessary repairs and maintenance to your Spanish Wells All Age School will be performed soon after we become the government.
The students of Gregory Town Primary will no longer have classes in a Lodge Hall but we will ensure your school is restored!!! And Lower Bogue, THE FNM WILL DELIVER YOUR FIRE TRUCK!!!
IT’S THE PEOPLE’S TIME NOW!!!
All over North Eleuthera, the roads, docks, and other pieces of government infrastructure have either not been completed or have fallen into a state of complete disrepair. We will invest in and maintain your essential infrastructure.
LET ME MAKE THIS CLEAR FOR ALL TO HEAR, WE WILL BRING RELIEF DIRECTLY TO THE PEOPLE!!!!
FNMs, we not only have a good team we have the best change team to lead our Bahamas. North Eleuthera, you nominated a son of the soil. He was born and raised in Harbour Island. Ricky has been involved in public service for many years. He has served you well in local government, on the licensing board and as a Justice of the Peace. Ricky is ready! Don’t mind the PLP lies and noise in the market; I am confident that he will serve you well.
He has proven that he will be dedicated and will fight for you. North Eleuthera give me RICKY MACKEY.
