And to you in Golden Isles, Good evening –

After quoting some bad poetry a few weeks ago, The Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham came on a stage before thousands of voters to tell the country valentine was coming early this year.

He told the few watching he had a gift on Valentine Day.

And the country was waiting.

Grand Bahama was waiting. Abaco was waiting.

Nassau was waiting. Cat Island, Rum Cay and San Salvador and all the central and southern Bahamas were waiting.

Golden Isles, you, too, I know, waited.

And guess what?

Nothing happened!

No announcement, no music, no rally.

Nothing!

And if Hubert Ingraham cannot keep his word before election, what do you think he can do for you after election?

Papa running scared. Papa has gone desperate. Can't remember what he says any more. Take it from me - Papa doesn’t know what to do.

He lost his brand new bag, got a new one and guess what? He lost that, too.

Like most of his clueless candidates, they are gone this time.

Take it from me: this time Perry Christie and the PLP WILL form the next government of the Bahamas.

We started the campaign this week in Yamacraw where our five star general up there in the person of Melanie Griffin is holding the troops steady.

Dion “Seasoned Loser” Foulkes just cannot get enough.

You know, in 2002 Leslie Miller beat him and put him in the Senate.

In 2007, Vergeneas Alfred Cornelius Gray beat him and put him in the Senate.

And now the man found the nerve to run to Yamacraw.

Well guess what! Dion ‘Seasoned Loser’ Foulkes better make up his bed in the Senate because as night follows day a woman will beat him this time!

This time he will make history.

Maybe as the longest serving Senator, or perhaps as the first rolling candidate to get beat three times by the PLP.

You know, perhaps Dion ‘Seasoned Loser’ Foulkes will get the message that the Bahamian people don’t want anything do with a two foot representative painted with the words “Scandal” all over.

Yes, Scandals I say, and when I say it I say it outside the House of Privilege.

Just to the east of us in Carmichael I hear there the FNM is trying a new candidate.

You know Danny Johnson is the PLP’s new mayor in that area.

And you can write it down, Carmichael is coming home to the PLP.

Desmond “Abandon” Bannister like the rest of FNMs is on the run.

He packed up his bags from here in the south to run in North Andros.

And guess who he run into? He ran into the safe hands of Dr. Michael Perry Gomez.

Bannister you will get just what the doctor order from our PLP candidate.

Just to the northeast of us Sidney “Break-the-law” Collie is on the run.

He is running from his constituents too.

You remember how he tried to call local government elections without giving notice on the family islands?

He is now in MICAL.

On that, I say no more. But here’s some advise Collie: go and have a chat with the FNM’s most “Seasoned Loser”.

To the north of Golden Isles we have another good man. His name is Jerome Gomez.

Jerome movements through Killarney are strong. They tell me even Kendal Wright give in.

Turn through the corner of Tropical Gardens and tell me what you see: The former FNM headquarters in Clifton is now GOLD!

On our team here in the South we have another young man just to the east of this constituency.

In Southern Shores our man is Kenred Dorsett.

Don’t mind who you see in race.

There is only one PLP representing our Party in that constituency. And I will say this: South Shores get set, because we want Dorsett! Dorsett! Dorsett!

Shane Gibson is another Five Star PLP general who will sail back into the House.

With a massive team of field generals all across Golden Gates, I could tell you that’s another constituency on lock!

Yes!

The PLP is ready. We have them on the run. We have the FNM scrambling.

And Mr. Ingraham knows we are ready.

He described the PLP Candidates' Launch this way and I quote: A Man Made Category 5.

Mr. Ingraham knows, and so does the rest of the country from Abaco in the north to MICAL in the south, that the PLP WILL form the next Government of the Bahamas!

We ready NOW! It's time for them to ring the bell!….

Tonight we in the PLP are here in the Southwest.

We are here to give you our man who will make Golden Isles GOLD AGAIN!

If you don’t believe me, just check the record for Michael Halkitis.

- Halkitis was inside the belly of the Finance Department when the PLP produced 22,000 jobs for the Bahamian workforce. MIKE was there.

- He was in the PLP’S deep deep well of thinkers when the Finance Department grew Government Revenue by 50%. M IKE was there.

- He was at the centre of the policy that did not increase a single tax on Bahamians between 2002 to 2007. MIKE was there.

- Guided by our Party Leader, this former Parliamentary Secretary in the Finance Department was instrumental in producing a more efficient public service and guess what - when he was there not one civil servant was sent home. I say MIKE was there.

Let me give you some more because I know “Baby Clown” listening to this live broadcast tonight.

Let me be clear, not “Papa clown” now, I say “Baby Clown”.

Yeah!

The man who does turn the Government side of the House into a circus every now and then.

Papa trained him well, you know!

It is time to elect a PLP candidate, someone who will work for you.

When young Mike first became a Member of Parliament back in 2002, he took all his energy as your MP for Adelaide at the time to fulfill the PLP’s vision of:

Better Education for Children.

Empowering our people through home ownership in safe Crime Free Communities was achieved.

Mike accepting that PLP mission as your MP accomplished all of the above.

In 2003 Mike, along with John Carey, forged an alliance to move the government to address classroom overcrowding for the exploding Southwest.

This young man lobbied then Minister for Education Alfred Sears to begin work on a special junior and senior high school for this part of New Providence.

Under the Christie administration plans for the school were drawn, construction began and Golden Isles today the Anatol Rodgers High School is opened!

That’s the footprint of MIKE and the PLP!

This hard worker didn’t stop there.

Let me jog your memory now.

Overcrowding at the Adelaide Primary School was a challenge back in 2002.

Mike went to the Minister Alfred Sears again, approval was granted and, before his term in office ended, an additional three classroom blocks were added to the school:

The expansion doubled the size of the school! The educational needs of this community were met and its environment was far better than before Mike got there.

No wonder, everywhere I walk in Golden Isles I hear the young people saying: I want be like Mike!

That’s the footprint of MIKE and the PLP!

Then the PLP embarked on an aggressive housing programme. We placed hundreds of families into home ownership for the first time.

Here in the South, your PLP Government constructed Pride Estates, Dignity Gardens, and Jubilee Gardens.

Michael Halikitis, again through the hard work of Minister Shane Gibson, secured three subdivisions in this constituency.

Excellence I and 2 and Adelaide Gardens - brought home ownership for the first time to young families in this community.

I want be like Mike!

That’s the footprint of MIKE and the PLP!

In this community, many private developments opened under the PLP. Construction Jobs were created. Homes built.

- Carpenters

- Masons

- Tile layers

- Painters

- Landscapers

- Skilled architects

….In communities like Golden Isles were all working. Some say there was too much work.

But since the FNM took charge of the Bahamas, and in particular this community, something has gone terribly wrong!

What happened? I ask you Golden Isles, what has Charles “Baby Clown” Maynard and the FNM done for you?

Where is their footprint in Golden Isles?

I cannot find it!

What I did find though was their fingerprint where they attempted to destroy the country.

Charles Maynard, like Phenton, like Laing and Brensil Rolle and the rest in the FNM, will all soon be kicked out of office.

And it ain’t long now!

I will show you what they delivered.

The FNM opened the door to crime and lawlessness in communities across country.

The Government’s bad spiteful policies:

- Dismantled Urban Renewal.

- They ended School Policing.

- They ended Witness Protection.

- And they ended Swift Justice.

They ended these programmes – programmes which were working – because they were PLP programmes. They put petty politics first. They ended these programmes and didn’t put anything worthwhile in their place.

They then proceed to tax Bahamians in what Mike would describe as crushing stones to get water.

They delivered unrealistic budget deficits year after year and borrowed millions on the backs of your children and mine to pay back for generations to come.

Then look what Hubert Ingraham, Charles Maynard and that ‘Seasoned Loser’ who was caught shipping our jobs to foreigners did to people:-

They delivered unemployment to almost 16% across the country; with unemployment among young people as high as 34%.

That can’t be right! The minister of youth has watched young people suffer under his watch.

They need to be asking for forgiveness not votes!

Golden Isles!

Our Bahamas is headed in the wrong direction.

Send home the clowns! Tell them pack up their tent! And fire them!

Trust me on this: Hubert Ingraham was prophetic when he said he saw a PLP Cat 5 coming for the FNM.
