Just look at the statesmanship, openness and concern for spending the public's tax dollars by presenting the Auditor General's Report on the former government's Jobs Programme so we know what's going wrong. Or should I say, what "went" wrong.

What might currently be going wrong with expenditures at Urban Renewal are irrelevant because they are allegedly happening under this government's watch. And we can't have an unaccountable government look any more like the light is on but no one is home.

Sorry to be so sarcastic, but it occurs to me that it is very obvious what is going on with this government even though they do not have the courage to be accountable in any formal way.

As I read recently, today's "leaders" are really our "rulers":

". . . We are less their subjects than their wards, pupils, or domestic animals..." (C.S. Lewis)

Releasing the Auditor General's Report is a Constitutional obligation of any government, and it shows their willingness to abuse their power for their political ends at our expense by not releasing them in their entirety, in a timely manner. Or only releasing the snippets most damning to the other side.

Is there any wonder so many young adults are not returning home after graduation, choosing to contribute to other countries. On top of that, people are either contemplating or actually leaving our fair shores?

But really, the PLP are transparent, and it's not just with waste and corruption on their watch. It's pretty easy to see what their propaganda machine is up to.

As John Stossel said in "No They Can't": “It’s not about electing the right people. It’s about a narrowing their responsibilities.”

Yours in Liberty,
Rick Lowe
