Nassau, Bahamas - Sidney Collie, Free National Movement (FNM) Chairman, issued the following statement regarding the importance of registering to vote:

“With the Prime Minister’s notice of Parliament’s dissolution on Apr 11th, everyone wishing to vote must register on or before Monday, April 10th. I encourage all Bahamians to seize this opportunity to participate in positive change as soon as possible. As a democracy, your vote impacts the future of our country, and with your vote, you have a say in what our future entails.”

“Bahamians have eagerly waited for the chance to restore our nation and build a future that offers greater opportunities to Bahamians, safer communities for all and first-rate education that gives our learners access to the tools they need to pursue their endeavors. Together, we can enact this vision.”

“The suffering that we have endured for five years is unspeakable and it can no longer be accepted. This government’s secrecy and lack of accountability that has become the norm under the PLP’s regime is appalling to all and we as Bahamians know and share our belief that this is unacceptable. The destruction that another 5 years of PLP control would bring cannot be risked and it is now up to Bahamians to use their vote to prevent this failed leadership from continuing its damage to our quality of life.”

“Most importantly, it is up to constituents to use their vote to ensure the positive change that the FNM is dedicated to enacting. I ask Bahamians to register quickly and to encourage their friends and family to do the same—for it’s the people’s time to bring about the change our beloved country so desperately needs.”
