Sidney Collie responds to Bradley Roberts

Nassau, Bahamas - Sidney Collie, Chairman of the Free National Movement (FNM), issued the following statement responding to Bradley Roberts:

“Whenever the delusional Bradley Roberts speaks it’s like listening to a broken record. Deny, deny, deny in a desperate attempt to make the news story go away. While they do wrong this is what they do. But after all the corruption the PLP has turned into an art form, does Bradley Roberts really expect the people to fall for the explanation that the PLP paid for the BAMSI ads with their own campaign money out of simple generosity? Where was the generosity these past five years as Bahamians suffered through staggering unemployment: the imposition of an onerous VAT tax on their bread basket items: and watched as their Government lavished friends and donors with generous government contracts that the PLP fully controlled? It would seem the PLP’s generosity only extends so far.”

“The delusional Bradley Roberts should know that they lost all credibility with the Bahamian people long ago to make such a claim about the BAMSI advertising campaign they are using for their campaign. If he truly wants the people to believe his word on this, he should prove it by being transparent with the public. Delusional Roberts should show the people who paid for the BAMSI ads. He should have BAMSI produce the paperwork, and then let the papers display their documents to make sure they match with what the PLP produces. ”

“And in the rare case that the PLP is willing to be transparent here, then they should come clean on many of their nefarious activities. The first would be to unseal their secret deal with their Chinese allies on Baha Mar; another would be to come clean on the politically connected loans that the Bank of The Bahamas has given them, and finally let the public know all the details of the government contracts they have lavished on friends and cronies. Bradley Roberts, Perry Christie and Brave Davis need to start being honest and transparent to the people that they are supposed to be representing.”
