Freeport. August 1, 2013 – SkyBahamas Airlines has announced plans to offer significant airfare reductions for Grand Bahama residents and visitors traveling between Freeport and Ft. Lauderdale.

According to the company’s CEO/President, Captain Randy Butler the company’s Directors made a decision to reduce air travel during the month of August to Two Hundred and Ninety Nine Dollars ($299.00) to facilitate the “hassle free” travel of passengers between the two destinations. In spite of recently announced additional taxations being imposed by the government on local and domestic carriers, Captain Butler insists that the company’s response will still be to continue it’s legacy of putting people before profits, and heralded that this “airfare drop is a continued demonstration of the airline’s appreciation and commitment to the people of Grand Bahama.”

Since beginning operations under its current leadership five years ago this month, the “Cacique Award Winning” SkyBahamas brand has been recognized as a pace-setter in customer service, route development, community support and industry advocacy.

Three years ago, the company expanded its route offerings by introducing direct flights between Freeport and Ft. Lauderdale, and offered its clients with the convenience of a relatively “hassle free” experience between the Freeport Terminal and Terminal 4 at the Ft. Lauderdale International Airport.

Many industry stakeholders have applauded the airlines airfare decrease announcement, indicating that most airlines actually hike fares during the busy summer months to take advantage of the increase in passenger loads. SkyBahamas has done the opposite. Captain Butler responded that “this is what innovative companies do. Rewarding passenger loyalty always results in the eventual benefits of customer retention and sustained profits”

This airfare reduction at present is extended through the month of August, and can be booked through the company’s website www.skybahamas.net , calling the Company’s Reservations Center at 377-8993 or visiting a preferred travel agent.
