Freeport, Bahamas - Mark your calendar of a great family activity and important fundraiser for the 2nd Annual BASRA Easter Egg Hunt presented by the Grand Bahama branch of the Bahamas Air Sea Rescue Association (BASRA) set for Easter Monday, April 9, 2012 from 1:00pm until 6:00pm out at Banana Bay Beach between Fortune Cay and Banana Bay. Same Location as last year, just past Fortune Cay before you get to Banana Bay Restaurant. Great fun and over $3,000 in Prizes! Hamburgers and Hotdogs will be on sale for $5. Includes a juice or water. Soda's will also be on sale.
Ages Groups:
0-4 yrs old - On the Sand 5-10 yrs old - Under the Sand 11yrs and Up - Under the Water Entrance Fees (donation): $10 for 0-10yrs old $15 for 11yrs and Up Please come out and Support BASRA and "Help Us Help You" and do not miss You the Easter Event of the Year! BASRA Grand Bahama - Since 1960 the Bahamas Air Sea Rescue Association of Grand Bahama made its mandate to save persons in distress on the sea. Solely manned and operated by volunteers, BASRA has saved many lives and been involved in thousands of rescues. With the assistance of both the Bahamas Defense Force and the U.S. Coast Guard, BASRA Grand Bahama maintains a watchful eye on the Northern Bahamas seas.
BASRA currently
operates two vessels for search and rescue missions. These vessels cost
$250 per hour to operate and missions range anywhere from 6 to 8 hours.
We do not require those rescued to reimburse this fee as we are in the
business of saving lives and operate as a non-profit charity.
