NASSAU, Bahamas - A memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the Antiquities, Monuments and Museum Corporation (AMMC) and the Public Parks and Public Beaches (PPPB) Authority, Wednesday, June 29.

The agreement will allow the AMMC to collaborate with the PPPB Authority on the development and maintenance of heritage parks throughout The Bahamas.

These parks will be designed to educate and entertain through the use of signs, statues and information panels.

The MOU will also allow for the development of a working relationship under which the PPPB Authority can assist the AMMC with the maintenance of historic sites, including the forts and historic cemeteries.

Additionally, the MOU will allow for the PPPB Authority and the AMMC to collaborate on the development of historic lighthouse properties into heritage sites designed for the education and enjoyment of the public and visitors.

Finally, the MOU will allow the PPPB Authority to develop our historic blue holes into heritage sites, with appropriate signage to educate and enlighten all who visit the locations.
