Agriculture Minister and BAIC Executives Tour Various Facilities in Grand Bahama

FREEPORT, Grand Bahama - Minister of Agriculture and Marine Resources, the Hon. Michael Pintard, along with the executives of that Ministry toured various facilities and met with staff members in Grand Bahama, Friday, July 27, 2018.

During a press briefing at the Office of the Prime Minister, members of the media were told by Minister Pintard that they were there to see all the facilities, meet with staff as well as view some commercial farms.

He said it was the first time a Minister brought his entire executive hierarchy to Grand Bahama for a meeting.

Minister of State for Grand Bahama in the Office of the Prime Minister, Sen. the Hon. J. Kwasi Thompson said the Ministry of Agriculture and Marine Resources has played a vital role in the process of revitalizing the economy of the island.

“We are confident that Minister Michael Pintard, is up to the challenge, as he has been with respect to the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture. We believe he is going to bring that normal continued focus.”

Those present were for the meeting included Michael Foulkes, Executive Chairman, BAIC; Alpheus Forbes; Under-Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Marine Resources; Gregory Bethel, Deputy Director, Marine Resources; Dr. Godfrey Springer, Department of Agriculture, Veterinarian; Charmaine Price, Assistant Director, Department of Agriculture; Maureen Romer, Human Resources; Gaylord Ingraham, BAIC; Kervin Culmer, Financial Controller, BAIC; Debbie Strachan, Senior Deputy General Manager, BAIC; and Benjamin Rahming, General Manager, BAIC.
