Report on Opening of 2019 Pop-Up Farmers Market

We are pleased to announce that the Bahamas Agricultural and Industrial Corporation (BAIC) Re-Opened its 2019 Pop-Up Farmers Market for the second year at Gladstone Road on Saturday, 19 January, and that it went extremely well.  In fact, we regard it as a great success.

We saw many of our faithful customers from 2018, for the first time this year and we were pleased that we had considerable produce for them. The staff was most excited and enthused about returning to the Pop-Up Farmers Market and commencing a new year.

The amazing news is that yesterday was our best day ever since we started last year on Saturday, 27th January. Yesterday, we served 1,785 persons.  These are people who actually purchased produce from us! A new record by far, for any Pop-Up or at Gladstone Road in 2018!

Total revenue for the day was $14,270.75! This is a record by several thousand. Again, compared to any Pop-Up or at Gladstone Road in 2018! Last January we had revenue of only $1,100. This coming weekend we will be at Gladstone Road as is our plan for practically the remainder of the year. This coming Saturday, 26th January, we will Pop-Up in Grand Bahama!

We warmly and graciously thank our valued customers who returned to the Pop-Up Farmers Market in massive numbers yesterday.  It was good to see so many of our old friends from 2018 and to meet a number of persons who visited us for the first time. Many of them indicated that they are looking forward to visiting next Saturday, 26th January.

We thank our staff for an exemplary performance yesterday! We are very proud of them and the wonderful customer service they provided, as usual, with professionalism, courtesy and warmth.

As always, we thank our Family Island farmers, because without them and the high quality, fresh and affordable Bahamian grown produce, we would not have a Pop-Up Farmers Market.

Thank you.
