Nassau, Bahamas - Inspirational, cheerful and fashionable are some of the words used to describe the late Jennie Mae Johnson McLeod, who served as a member of the custodial staff at Bahamas Information Services for nearly eight years.

Staff members -- while respecting Covid-19 safety protocols -- gathered on Tuesday, 6th October to reminisce and memorialize the life of Jennie Mae.

She transitioned from this life on Monday, 31st August after losing her battle with cancer.  Ever the valiant warrior, Jennie Mae was known to offer words of encouragement to others even in the midst of her own personal challenges.

Ambassador Devon Rolle, Senior Pastor of Kingdom Discipleship Centre, said although he had not known Jennie Mae personally, his inquiries about her resulted in the same conclusions. He said people praised her for her gentle spirit, kind words and cheerful disposition. Offering words of encouragement to her family, he likened the transition into death as a positive conclusion following one's life journey.

Director General of BIS, Kevin Harris expressed gratitude for having met her three years ago, as the new head of BIS. He described her as an excellent worker with a positive attitude.

Also paying tribute was her lunch and exercise partner, Linda Major, who said that Jennie Mae was an inspiration to her.

She will always be remembered by her BIS family.

Golden Gates World Outreach Ministries on Thursday, October 8, 2020.  She will be buried in her hometown in Eleuthera on Saturday, October 10, 2020.
