Nassau, Bahamas - The Minister and Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture extend sincere condolences to the family of the late Basil Neymour who passed away on Monday, 16th September 2013.

Our hearts and our prayers are with you during your time of bereavement and we pray that you find peace and comfort in knowing that your father lived a life that was not only dedicated to his immediate family but also to his extended family in the Bahamian sporting community.   Mr. Neymour, a family man, successful entrepreneur and philanthropist, committed much of his resources to the development of sports throughout Grand Bahama and the entire Bahamas.  He may perhaps be most remembered for his many contributions to the development of the sport of track and field in the Bahamas and most particularly his single-handed sponsorship of the 2002 Carifta Track and field championships held here in the Bahamas.

Mr. Neymour will truly be missed from the sporting community.

May he rest in peace.
