Nassau The Bahamas - The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture launched Sports Heritage Month, observed in November, with a press conference, at its offices. The month is used to recognize and congratulate Bahamians who have played a role in sports throughout the country.

Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture the Hon. Dr. Daniel Johnson announced that 18 persons would be named to the Hall of Fame, four posthumously, in a ceremony at Government House as part of activities this month.

Other activities include a church service at Our Lady's Catholic Church, a meet-and-greet with the Governor-General at Government House, and school visits by the honourees. Minister Johnson is pictured addressing honourees, Ministry staff and the press during the press conference, November 2, 2016.  (BIS Photos/Raymond A. Bethel, Sr.)
