Bahamas events to observe 181st anniversary of the emancipation

Nassau, Bahamas - Dame Marguerite Pindling Governor General will join the people of Fox Hill at the annual ecumenical service to mark the 181st anniversary of the emancipation of the slaves in the then British Empire of which The Bahamas was then a part on Monday 3rd August at 11 a m.  Fred Mitchell MP for Fox Hill will attend.  

The annual observances begin in Fox Hill on Monday 3rd August with a Junkanoo parade at 1 a m.
