NASSAU, The Bahamas – The World International Council of Dance (CID) in Paris officially presented documents recognizing the Nassau Section of CID during a special ceremony in Paris on March 29th.

Bahamas Ambassador to UNESCO H.E. Desmond Edwards delivered greetings on behalf of the Government of The Bahamas at the event.

He said, “I am pleased that the Paris Section of CID has seen it fit to present Diplomas and Letters of Recognition of the Executive Committee of the Nassau Section of CID, under the Presidency of Dr. Ann Higgins, a leading cultural icon of our nation and a woman steeped in Bahamian culture and spirituality.

“We are indeed blessed with azure blue waters, a warm and sunny climate, happy, friendly and welcoming people who live in our 700 islands and cays. We are so ever grateful for the fortunes bestowed upon us. The scriptures say that King David danced and rejoiced before the Ark of the Covenant, therefore, we dance in our churches, we dance in the streets, and we dance in our homes.”
