The Government of The Bahamas welcomes the agreement dated 14th
July between the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany,
Russia, and China, as well as the European Union and the Islamic
Republic of Iran on the use of nuclear energy by Iran.
The
Bahamas supports the right of sovereign states to develop nuclear
technology for peaceful purposes in accordance with international norms.
The
International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has been charged with the
responsibility of determining adherence to international regulations. We
express our confidence in the efforts of the IAEA in this matter.
The
Bahamas hopes that all sides will honour in good faith their
commitments and fulfill the Agreement. The Bahamas supports the nuclear
agreement between the US and Iran and aligns itself with the other
supporters of this historic agreement.
The Bahamas believes that dialogue is the most effective tool in resolving disputes.
