The Hon. Alwin A. Adams, a member of the Barbados Senate paid a courtesy call on the Acting Minister for Grand Bahama, the Hon. Michael Halkitis on Friday morning. Mr. Halkitis, who is the Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance, is currently filling in for the Hon. Dr. Michael Darville, Minister for Grand Bahama. In a meeting at the Ministry for Grand Bahama which lasted about an hour, the two touched on the close relationship that exists between the two countries, and how a number of persons from Barbados came to The Bahamas many years ago, serving as educators, law enforcement officers, clergymen and more. Senator Adams visited Grand Bahama at the invitation of the Bardados/Bahamian Association on Grand Bahama to speak at a special service at Church of the Ascension, Saturday, marking the 49th Anniversary of Barbados Independence.
