NASSAU, The Bahamas -- Management and Staff of Breezes Bahamas (SuperClubs) Resort and Spa, as well as a number of their repeat guests visiting The Bahamas during “Repeaters’ Week,” enjoyed a special celebration at Centerville Primary School on May 17.

Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Perry Christie joined in the event to celebrate the Breezes Bahamas committed partnership with the primary school: he interacted and spoke with the young students.

During the visit, Breezes presented school supplies and other essential items.  Their guests on this occasion had an opportunity to visit the classrooms and interact with the students.

For the upcoming school year additional school supplies will be donated to the students.

Partnership activities include:

·      Breezes Bahamas has assisted with the creation and maintenance of a reading flower garden and repair and painting of the picket fence.

·      Daily maintenance and general upkeep of the school.

·      Organic Farm Garden -- Breezes will assist with this effort by having the area selected for this garden marked out properly with some wooden fencing and the addition of soil.

·      As a Green Globe Certified Property, Breezes Bahamas will introduce the Junior Green Ranger Program within the School; this would raise more awareness among the students as it relates to pollution, conservation, and recycling.

·      Breezes Bahamas will assist with mentorship programs focusing on Math, Reading and Science workshops throughout the calendar year by having volunteers go into the schools to work along with teachers in the various classrooms.

·      Industry professionals will enter the classroom and speak about the tourism industry and its importance.

·      The school’s playground is currently closed off and is in dire need of repair and additional playground equipment.  Breezes Bahamas will assist with the addition of swings, seesaw, sand on playgrounds, and painting.

·      Breezes Resort and Spa has reached out to the community and has recruited students to be part of the Junior Soccer team, “Breezes Eagles.”  The ‘Breezes Eagles Under-14 Team’ -- in less than a year of becoming a team -- placed 5th in the Bahamas Youth Football Association League -- making it to the semi-finals.
