FREEPORT, Grand Bahama -- On Sunday, July 24th, NBA player Buddy Hield was welcomed home to Grand Bahama Island by WNBA player Jonquel Jones who had arrived the day prior. Both
were welcomed home by family and friends in grand style.
The two were recently honoured as Sports Legends
in special ceremonies that applauded 38 Bahamian sporting stars at the
Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium in Nassau on Thursday, July 21,
2016.
From those ceremonies and activities, they traveled home to Grand
Bahama, and were greeted warmly by their families and friends.
Minister of Tourism the Hon. Obie Wilchcombe and Minister for Grand
Bahama the Hon. Michael Darville had the opportunity to witness happy
reunions.
