Nassau, Bahamas -- The Cabinet Office has launched an inter-agency news
magazine entitled The Cabinet Files. The quarterly edition was officially unveiled by Secretary to the Cabinet, Anita Bernard, Monday, September 6.

The objective of the magazine is to articulate the role, mission, vision and goals of the Cabinet Office and provide readers with government information. The motto of the magazine is “Many Players, One Team”.

Mrs Bernard said the launch of The Cabinet Files was a “significant” event that required the effort and imagination of the employees of the Cabinet Office. She said the magazine encourages the participation and contribution of all staff members and each of the employees can take ownership in some aspect of it.

Mrs Bernard said she envisages the magazine becoming a tool for building teamwork, disseminating information and for all to make a contribution towards excellence in the public service.

She thanked staff of the Cabinet Office for their assistance in the launch of the magazine including Anita Beneby, Deputy Permanent Secretary; Michael Humes, First Assistant Secretary and Bridget Hepburn, Senior Assistant Secretary.

Harrison John, Permanent Secretary in the Cabinet Office, Antionette Thompson, Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Department of Public Service and John Fleet, Managing Editor of The Tribune comprised the committee involved in the selection process of a competition among staff members for naming the magazine.
