Chinese Embassy holds Reception for past Bahamian Scholars and Course Participants

Nassau, The Bahamas - Scores of recipients and stakeholders attended a Reception or the China Aid Human Resources Training Programs, held at the Chinese Ambassador's Residence, on the Eastern Road, on April 6, 2018. First Secretary in the Economic & Commercial division of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China Ms. Ying Qu hosted the event, and Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to The Bahamas His Excellency Huang Qinguo brought remarks.  Speaking on behalf of Minister of Foreign Affairs the Hon. Darren Henfield was Deputy Permanent Secretary and Head of the International Relations Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Eugene Torchon-Newry; and Ryan C. Carroll spoke on behalf of the Bahamians who received the scholarships or took part in courses in China. 

Among those present were Deputy Permanent Secretary and Head of the Americas Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Freddie C. Tucker and First Assistant Secretary and Head of the Honorary Consul Unit and Technical Assistance Division Meryl Deveaux, Ministry of Foreign Affairs staff members, and Chinese Embassy officials and staff.
