Coral Harbour Base, (RBDF):  The Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King, presented the Bahamas National Flag to the wife of the late Marine Mechanic Raynaldo King on October 13, 2020 at Defence Headquarters, John F. Kennedy Drive.

Whilst thanking Mrs. Le'Chea Capron-King for her husband's service and offering sincerest condolences, the Commander Defence Force used the opportunity to remind her that her husband served the organization with pride and honor. The passing of Marine Mechanic King also struck a chord in the heart of Commodore King, with this being one of his beloved sons.

Receiving the flag along with Mrs. Capron-King were the children of Marine Mechanic R. King; Raynique, Cha'naldo, Raynaldo Jr., and Le'naldo King. In attendance were the Commodore’s wife, Retired Force Chief Petty Officer Fredricka King; Senior Commander Michael Hanna, RBDF Human Resource Officer; and Force Chief Petty Officer Ramone Storr, Command Warrant Officer.

The Bahamas National Flag, which is known in the military as the Jack, draped King’s coffin during the funeral service. This flag, which serves as a symbol of honour and recognition of his 7-years contribution in service to his country, is ceremonially hoisted and flown aboard all Defence Force craft and satellite bases.

Just as the flag waves on lustily so does the memories of our fallen soldiers linger in on in our hearts and minds.
