NASSAU, The Bahamas - Two tug boats, valued at $15 million were commissioned during a ceremony held at the Prince George Wharf on Monday, May 14, 2018. The vessels - Samson  (70 tons) and Rose (60 tons) will serve both Prince George Wharf and Clifton Pier. They will be operated by Tug Services Limited (TSL), a 100 percent-owned Bahamian company, with whom the government has a 15-year contract valued at around $4 million a year. The vessels were built by Damen Shipyards (a Dutch shipping company). The tugs will assist in moving vessels, particularly in times of inclement weather.  In attendance was Minister of Transport and Local Government, the Hon. Frankie Campbell, who introduced keynote speaker Prime Minister, Dr. the Hon. Hubert Minnis.  Pictured during the ceremony, from left: Prime Minister Minnis, Minister Campbell, and Alan Borde of Damen Shipyards.  (BIS Photo/Peter Ramsay)
