Nassau, Bahamas - The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture and its staff wish to express our sincere condolences over the sudden and unexpected passing of Bahamian sports star Mr. Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson in Florida recently.

Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson rose to fame through his widely viewed videos of his backyard brawls and then his transition into the professional arena of Mixed Martial Arts.

We are deeply saddened by his sudden passing as he had only just begun to impact the Bahamian populous through his large international following and involvement in mixed martial arts on the world scene.  He will always be remembered as the self-made icon who propelled himself into stardom.

He will always be remembered as a tough individual who refused to allow his humble beginnings to keep him from achieving success, but rather someone that recognized their talent and used it to propel himself to success.

Again we extend our condolences on the loss of our Bahamian Brother.
