Congratulations to Jazrado ‘Jazz‘ Chisholm on solidifying his position in Major League Baseball as the 2nd baseman on the Miami Marlins Baseball Team

The Hon. Iram Lewis, on behalf of the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture is excited to extend congratulations to 23-year-old Bahamian Baseball player, Jazz Chisholm on solidifying his position in Major League Baseball as the 2nd baseman for the Miami Marlins team.

Jazz, who was always a highly regarded prospect was competing against another top prospect, Puerto Rican native, Isan Diaz for the only open full time position on the team.  To our delight, Jazz was announced the winner of the spring competition for the Miami Marlins’ second base job Sunday 28th, March, 2021 and expected to be in the lineup on Opening Day.

Chisholm batted .268 with three homers and four stolen bases in spring training.
Marlins team management informed Chisholm shortly before the club's Grapefruit League finale Sunday at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium.  General Manager Kim Ng, added, “Jazz is an exciting player to watch and will add a lot to the lineup.”

Once again, on behalf of a proud nation, we wish Jazz continued success in his sport and in his new role as 2nd baseman on the Miami Marlins team.  No doubt this recent accomplishment will serve as an inspiration to his fellow Bahamian baseball players both locally and abroad.
