On behalf of a proud Commonwealth of The Bahamas, The Ministry of Youth, Sports & Culture extends congratulations to Team Bahamas on its achievements at the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast Australia.

Our athletes again demonstrated our ability to continue to rise to the top and we especially congratulate our medal winners:

Shaunae Miller-Uibo  -- 400m gold

Jeffrey Gibson -- 400m hurdles silver

Jamal Wilson  -- High Jump silver

Men’s Relay  -- 4 x 400 silver

(Ojay Ferguson, Teray Sweeting, Stephen Newbold, Alonzo Russell, Michael Mathieu and Ramon Miller)

The valiant efforts of our swimmers -- Joanna Evans who barely missed the medal podium and the record-breaking swim of Izaak Bastian, even after his outstanding contribution at Carifta in Jamaica -- have not gone unnoticed.  Further, we welcome the first time appearances by athletes Cameron Roach and Adrian Rollins on their international debut in their respective sports of Triathlon and Table Tennis, opening doors for others to follow.

Congratulations again to the entire Commonwealth Games Team inclusive of athletes, coaches and officials for their representation of The Bahamas in a manner that demonstrates the discipline, commitment and skills required for success.
