DPM visits Grand Bahama to check progress of Works projects

FREEPORT, The Bahamas - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Works and Urban Development the Hon. Philip Davis was in Grand Bahama on Thursday, February 23, to see the progress of several projects.
     
Accompanying the Deputy Prime Minister was Minister for Grand Bahama, the Hon. Dr. Michael Darville, along with Toni Hudson-Bannister of the Ministry of Works in Grand Bahama.

One of the sites visited was the West End Junior High School where ground was broken on September 8, 2016.  This is the first school to be built in the area since 1967.
        
The other sites visited were the newly-constructed fire station, and the Fishing Hole Road.
       
When the $11.5 million contract was signed during the ground breaking ceremony for the Junior High School, Prime Minister of The Bahamas the Rt. Hon. Perry G. Christie, along with Minister of Tourism and Member of Parliament for the West Grand Bahama and Bimini the Hon. Obie Wilchcombe, attended the ceremony.
