Nassau, Bahamas - The Eastern Community Association will
hold its annual evening of Jazz and Classical Music Concert on Friday, July 22.
The announcement was made on Monday, July 11 at the Ministry of Youth, Sports
and Culture on Thompson Boulevard.
The concert is being held under the
patronage of the Hon. Charles T. Maynard, MP, Golden Isles and Minister of
Youth, Sports and Culture and Mrs. Maynard and Commissioner of Police Ellison
Greenslade and Mrs. Greenslade. It will
be held at the Hall of The Anglican Church of The Epiphany, Prince Charles
Drive, at 7: 00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
The concert is a collaborative effort
between the Eastern Community Association, the Eastern Division of the Royal
Bahamas Police Force and the Anglican Church of the Epiphany. In keeping with the mission of the Eastern
Community Association of partnership and outreach , the event will showcase the Eastern Community Pacesetters
Youth Marching and Concert Band. In addition, the event will feature other
notable artists, including Francis Fawkes, Charles Zonicle, Kelly Mackey, Davis Saunders, Jeremy Russell and Pamela Woods and Epiphany’s
Senior Church Choir .
Funds raised from the concert will be
used to purchase three saxophones for the band and also to finance a trip to
Norfolk University in October 2011.
During the event, the Eastern Community will also recognise gold, silver
and bronze sponsors of the 2011
Festival.
