EMERGENCY POWERS (COVID 19) (SPECIAL PROVISIONS) (AMENDMENT) (NO. 4) ORDER, 2020

In exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Emergency Powers (Covid 19) Regulations, 2020, I HEREBY make the following Order for every island and cay in the Commonwealth of The Bahamas -

1.    Citation.
This Order, which amends the Emergency Powers (Covid 19) (Special Provisions) Order, 2020, (S.I. No. 32 of 2020) may be cited as the Emergency Powers (Covid 19) (Special Provisions) (Amendment) (No. 4) Order, 2020.
2.    Insertion of new orders 18 and 19 into S.I. No. 32 of 2020.
The Emergency Powers (Covid 19) (Special Provisions) Order, 2020 is amended by the insertion immediately after order 17, the following new orders 18 and 19

18.    Control of importation of non-surgical face masks.
( 1)    Any person who imports more than ten non-surgical face masks without the prior written approval of the Competent Authority commits an offence and is liable upon summary conviction to a fine not exceeding ten thousand dollars or to a term of imprisonment of three months or to both such fine and imprisonment.
(2)    Notwithstanding paragraph (1), any person who, prior to the coming into force of this order, purchased and attempted to import more than ten non-surgical face masks shall be permitted to import the face masks.
(3)    Notwithstanding paragraph (1) any business or undertaking involved in-
(a)    industrial manufacturing;
