FREEPORT, Grand Bahama -- Sixteen Enumerators and two Supervisors were
sworn in, November 2, 2016 to carry out the Department of Statistics’ bi-annual
Labor Force Survey during the month of November in Grand Bahama. Administrator
Brenda Colebrooke performed the swearing-in ceremony.
She cautioned the field
officers to take their oath of secrecy seriously and to perform their duties
professionally, with due consideration and empathy, especially in the aftermath
of Hurricane Matthew.
Enumerators with
official identification cards from the Department of Statistics will visit
selected households in New Providence, Grand Bahama, Abaco, Exuma, and Bimini
and will be calling upon residents to complete the questionnaires honestly and
accurately. The information obtained will be handled in the strictest
confidence and will be used to obtain essential statistical data on the
