Fred Mitchell signing the UN Small Arms Trade Treaty

NEW YORK - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, the Hon. Fred Mitchell (seated) is pictured signing the United Nations Small Arms Treaty at the UN on Monday, 3rd June 2013.

This is the first international treaty of its kind aimed at regulating the transfer of weapons across the borders of member states involved in the manufacruring of these weapons.

The treaty received overwhelming support from the UN General Assembly.
