Freeport, Grand Bahama - The Farmer’s Market in downtown Freeport is being renovated with hopes that the process will be complete within the next two weeks, after which the vendors can move back in, and beautification would take place while they are in their booths.
Photos show: The Farmer’s Market in downtown Freeport, Grand Bahama, is receiving a major facelift. The project has been awarded to SRA Construction Company Limited, and is into its fourth week of renovation. President of SRA Construction, Sanford Culmer, is seen giving instructions as workers install the wall at the Market. Originally, cars and tour buses were permitted to drive into the market, but when renovations are complete, no vehicular traffic will be allowed.
Construction Workers at the Farmer’s Market in downtown Freeport, Grand Bahama were busy putting together a thirteen building complex, with each building housing two booths. SRA Construction will renovate the market at the cost of $250,000.00, and according to Mr. Sanford Culmer, President of SRA Construction, the major challenge that he faces daily is that of fixing an existing structure. He said you never know what you will face, but is optimistic that when the Market is completed it will be something that everyone will be proud of. Mr. Culmer said he and his workers are working diligently to complete the project within the next two weeks, so the vendors can return to their original site and the beautication part of it will be done while the vendors are in their booth.
At the Farmer’s Market in downtown Freeport, Grand Bahama there are visible signs that construction is well on the way. The fresh and newly-renovated building will give Freeport a new charm that will entice visitors and residents to patronize the new Market Place. SRA Construction Company Limited President, Mr. Sanford Culmer said four loads of debris have been removed from the site and Vendors have much to look forward to when they are relocated to their booths. He also admonished them to take better care of their work environment.
