FREEPORT, The Bahamas – Twenty-five persons currently training to become Trained Clinical Nurses were encouraged by Minister for Grand Bahama, the Hon. Dr. Michael Darville to do well during their training as the country gets ready to the launch the National Health Insurance Plan in April. Minister Darville visited one of the training sessions on Monday, March 13, at the Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute where the University of The Bahamas students are being trained. The programme began in January for 18 months’ duration. Upon graduation, participants will receive the Trained Clinical Nurse Certificate. Currently enrolled are 24 females and one male. The sessions are held at BTVI, the Rand Memorial Hospital, and the University of The Bahamas Northern Campus.
