JA Month Launched in The Bahamas

NASSAU, The Bahamas -- Philip Simon,
acting executive director, and Raymond Winder, chairman, of Junior Achievement
(JA) Bahamas launched JA Month --February 2015 -- under the theme “My Future
Begins With Me” at Jacaranda House on Monday, February 2.
The launch was made official by the
reading of a proclamation by the Rt. Hon. Perry G. Christie, Prime Minister and
Minister of Finance.
Mr. Winder said the month would be used
to showcase and celebrate past and present achievers who have been shown to be
the brightest and best, and will also showcase corporate Bahamas.
Among activities scheduled are: Job
Shadow Day; JA National Awareness T-shirt Day; Junior Achievement Community Projects;
and ‘Let’s Talk About Our Future.’
Director of Youth in the Ministry of
Youth, Sports and Culture Darren Turnquest pledged the support of the
Government and the Ministry and, on behalf of the Minister of Youth, Sports and
Culture the Hon. Daniel Johnson -- congratulated JA Bahamas on 36 years of
leadership, positive engagement and youth development that have contributed to
the advancement of the youth of the nation.
