NASSAU, The Bahamas – On World Day of Prayer on Friday, Minister of Transport and Aviation the Hon. Glenys Hanna Martin officially launched the 2015 World Day of Prayer Commemorative Stamps of The Bahamas that featured the work of three Bahamian artists, whom she recognized during her remarks on the official launch. The ceremony took place at the General Post Office, East Hill Street.

Postmistress General Debbie Pennerman presented Minister of Financial Services the Hon. Hope Strachan with a set of the Commemorative Stamps: Minister Strachan, who was attending the ceremony marking the World Day of Prayer, formerly served as the Minister of State in the Ministry of Transport and Aviation prior to her new post at the Ministry of Financial Services.

Bahamian artists Tyrone Ferguson and Chantal Bethel, two of the three artists whose creative talents were expressed in the commemorative stamps, were present at the ceremony. They were praised, along with their colleague artist Jessica Colebrooke.

Also receiving commendation was photographer Jim LaRoda, the official photographer for the new stamp collection, who also received a set of the new stamps from Postmistress Debbie Pennerman.
