FREEPORT, Grand Bahama -- Grand Bahama Urban Renewal Centers received a generous donation of food supply from MSC for the residents of Grand Bahama. The supply of food items and dry goods was delivered on Monday, September 28, 2020, at Freeport Harbour.  On hand to accept the goods was Senator the Hon. Jasmin Dareus, Deputy Director of Urban Renewal.

“We’re really excited about this donation from MSC and on behalf of the Office of the Prime Minister in Grand Bahama and for Urban Renewal, we’re really grateful to be able to distribute all of these food items to the residents of Grand Bahama," she said.

There was a variety of food items including, rice, meats, flour, water, pastry items, canned and other dry goods.  The items will be distributed evenly to all of the five Urban Renewal Centers on Grand Bahama and residents can go to those centers and obtain a stocked bag of various foodstuffs.  According to Senator Dareus, anyone who may have a need should be able to go to one of the centers and receive assistance.

“This donation speaks to the humanitarian efforts of MSC and all of the other persons who are assisting and distributing items to help residents in the different communities at this time,” said Senator Dareus. “So, I believe that the residents of Grand Bahama are extremely thankful.”
