Minister Dames Opens BDOCS Senior Management Seminar

Nassau, The Bahamas - Minister of National Security the Hon. Marvin Dames opens the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services (BDOCS) Senior Management Seminar, on January 31, 2019, at the British Colonial Hilton.  Joining Acting Commissioner of Correctional Services Charles Murphy and his senior team were senior government officials and representatives of all uniformed law enforcement agencies, and most of the uniformed branches of government.  Among them were the following: Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of National Secretary Eugene Poitier; Commissioner of Police Anthony Ferguson; Deputy Commissioner Emrick Seymour and other senior police officers; Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) Deputy Commander Captain Samuel Evans; RBDF Captain Clyde Sawyer and other senior RBDF officers; Director of Immigration Clarence Russell; as well as Customs officers.  Among the various presentations and topics slated to be discussed at the seminar were "Relationships Between Human Rights and Effective Corrections"; "Protecting Juveniles in Adult Detention Facilities"; "Techniques of Effective Leadership in Law Enforcement"; and "Forming a Corrections-Centred Mindset".  (BIS Photos / Eric Rose)
