Minister Lanisha Rolle Arrives in Abaco to Support the Island's Junkanoo Parades

MARSH HARBOUR, Abaco, The Bahamas -- Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture the Hon. Lanisha T. Rolle arrived on the island of Abaco, on February 22, 2019, to lend her support to the Senior and Junior Junkanoo parades that will take place there that weekend.  Minister Rolle is also slated to meet with staff of her Ministry on the island and tour the Patrick J. Bethel Sports Facility.  Joining her are cultural stakeholders, including Executive Director of Culture Rowena Sutherland, Junior Junkanoo National Coordinator Henry Higgins, Junkanoo icon Percy 'Vola' Francis, and Co-Chairpersons of the National Junkanoo Committee Kishlane O'Brien and Dr. Dwight Marshall.  The team was greeted upon arrival in Marsh Harbour by Abaco civil service and cultural leaders including Family Island Administrator for the Central Abaco and Hope Town Districts Maxine Duncombe, Family Island Administrator for South Abaco Donald Rolle, Senior Deputy Family Island Administrator for North Abaco Terrece Bootle, Officer in Charge of the Abaco Divisions Chief Superintendent of Police Kevin Mortimer, Minister Rolle's Ministry representative for Abaco William Davis, and Chairman of the All Abaco Junkanoo and Cultural Committee Ayanna Archer.  (BIS Photos / Eric Rose)
