NASSAU, The Bahamas -- Minister of the Environment & Housing, the Hon. Romauld S. Ferreira, released the shortlist of seven qualified firms that were chosen from a total of 18 applicants who submitted Expressions of Interest (EOI), to be considered for submitting landfill remediation proposals to the government.

A proposal to government would detail how the company plans to deconstruct, remediate, and operate the New Providence Sanitary Landfill, as well as all the Landfills throughout the Bahamian archipelago.

On February 8, 2018, Minister Ferreira made the announcement to the press from the Ministry’s conference room at its headquarters on Charlotte Street. The order of the list does not reflect the Ministry’s preference for any company over the other.

Companies shortlisted are:

* Apapa International (Nassau) Ltd.

* Bahamas Waste

* Bahamas WPT Ltd.

* Eastern Waste Systems Ltd.

* Marine Contractors Inc.

* Providence Advisors

* Valoriza Servicios Medioambientales, S.A.
