The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has learned with great sadness of the passing of Mrs. Audrey Wright, following a long illness.  Mrs. Wright was the spouse of former Foreign Service Officer and Ambassador of The Bahamas to the Republic of Cuba Mr. Carlton Wright.

A cultural and musical icon and teacher, Mrs. Wright contributed significantly to the cultural development of The Bahamas, especially to the youths of this country and will be surely missed.  Her legacy will remain. Mrs. Wright also played an integral role, along with her husband in setting up the Embassies of The Bahamas in Haiti and Cuba.

On behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Hon. Darren A. Henfield, and the entire staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its Overseas Missions, we extend heartfelt condolences to Mr. Wright, the children, and family of Mrs. Wright during this most difficult time.  May she rest in eternal peace.
