The Ministry of Health, Bahamas will be conducting a research project to explore the use of social media (e.g. text message, email, Facebook etc.) in disaster and emergency situations. The results of which will help to strengthen our disaster and emergency management.

The research will be done via telephone interviews of randomly selected persons over the age of 18 years throughout The Bahamas; and will be conducted during the months of September – November 2012

If your telephone number is selected, an interviewer may call you via your landline or mobile number. In either case, you will not be charged for the duration of the call and the interview.

We believe that you will find the survey interesting and uncomplicated. Interviews will take about 10 minutes; and are completely confidential and anonymous -

Your name is NOT REQUIRED and your telephone number WILL NOT be shared.

While participation is not mandatory, it is greatly welcomed as your contribution will guide the national efforts related to disaster and emergency management in the country.

The Ministry values your input.

Thank you in advance for participation.
