The Ministry of Youth, Sports & Culture is pleased to congratulate the outstanding performances of two of our athletes competing internationally.

Firstly, we recognize the track and field athlete Shaunae Miller-Uibo who won the 200m in a new national record at the Diamond League competition in Zurich Switzerland.  Secondly, Joanna Evans, a swimmer, captured both the 800m freestyle bronze medal in a new national record and also the silver medal in the 200 meter freestyle at the World University Games in Taipei, Taiwan, becoming the first Bahamian to win two medals at this competition.

On behalf of the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture we extend our congratulations to these outstanding athletes who continue to represent The Commonwealth of The Bahamas in sports with distinction.
