NASSAU, The
Bahamas – The National Emergency Management Agency, in keeping with its goals
to build disaster resilient communities, took its message to the summer youth
camp of the Centreville Urban Renewal Office.
Luke Bethel,
training officer at NEMA, fully engaged children during his presentation of
disasters such as floods, tornadoes, earthquakes, tsunamis, fires, hurricanes and
any other possible emergencies the country could be faced with.
The half-day
presentation was held Thursday, August 20, 2015 at the Urban Renewal office on
Deveaux Street. The workshop was part of the summer programme for the students
before they head back to school for the fall semester. Up to 60 children participated in the summer
programme.
