NASSAU, The Bahamas -- Her Excellency, Dame Marguerite Pindling, Governor General, recognized 52 employees celebrating National Insurance Board long service milestones, under the theme "Celebrating Our People - the Foundation Pillars of Our Social Security Programme" in the Ballroom of Government House, October 28.  Joining her was Labour, National Insurance and Public Service Minister, the Hon. Shane Gibson, who gave brief remarks to the honorees.

"This evening, the National Insurance Board recognizes 52 employees for varying service milestones.  Some of you have served for 40 years, 35 years, 30 years, 25 years, 20 years, and 10 years.  Then, there are 11 of you who have attained that enviable milestone called 'retirement'," said Minister Gibson.

"Tonight, I join with others of your colleagues, family and friends, in paying tribute to you, not just for your longevity of service, but for your commitment and your contributions down through the years.”

Minister Gibson said that through the efforts of the honorees, NIB has been able to elevate the standard of living in The Bahamas.  He said NIB has helped to protect and advance the dignity of thousands upon thousands of Bahamians. (BIS Photos/Raymond A. Bethel, Sr.)
