New Bus Routes‏ for Nassau Effective July 15th

Nassau, The Bahamas – Deputy Controller of Road Traffic Brad Smith has announced changes to bus routes effective July 15.

The Deputy Controller met with omni-bus franchise operators and drivers on June 14 to inform them of changes to routes including 5, 5A 10A, 11A, 12, 15, 15A, 16A and 21A.

The drivers and operators were also updated on the revised bus routes designed to accommodate the one-way traffic system recently implemented on Market Street and Baillou Hill Road.

The new routes are as follows:

Route #5 – Starting point: Kennedy and Malcolm Road

Kennedy Sub to Soldier Road, Village Road, Shirley Street, Princess Street, Duke Street, Cumberland Street, Bay Street, Frederick Street, Market Street, Robinson Road, Baillou Hill Road, Soldier Road and return to Kennedy Sub Division.

Route#5A – Starting point Kennedy Sub Division

Kennedy Sub Division, Soldier Road, Robinson Road, Marathon Road, Wulff Road, Market Street, Shirley Street, Princess Street, Duke Street Cumberland Street, Navy Lion Road, Bay Street, Frederick Street, Market Street, Robinson Road, Baillou Hill Road, Malcolm Road East and return to Kennedy Sub-Division.

Route # 10A – Starting point: East Hill Street Depot

East Street, Shirley Street, Princess Street, Market Street, Wulff Road, Poinciana Drive, Carter Street, Horse Shoe Drive, Nassau Street, Meeting Street, Baillou Hill Road, Cumberland Street, Navy Lion Road, Bay Street, Frederick Street South, Ajax Street, Farrington Road, John F Kennedy Drive, Prospect Ridge, Cable Beach, Sandyport, Skyline Drive

Route # 11A Starting point: Elizabeth Estates

Commonwealth Boulevard, Yamacraw Road, Joe Farrington Road, Sea Breeze, Beatrice Avenue, Prince Charles Drive, Soldier Road, Village Road, Shirley Street, Princess Street, Market Street, Robinson Road and return to Elizabeth Estates

Route # 12 Starting point: Coral Harbour

Coral Harbour Roundabout, Adelaide Road, Clifton Pier Road, Mount Pleasant and Lyford Cay, John F. Kennedy Drive, Blake Road, West Bay Street, Cable Beach, Marlborough Street, Navy Lion Road, Bay Street, Frederick Street, Princess Street, Market Street, Robinson Road, Baillou Hill Road, Carmichael Road to Coral Harbour roundabout.

Yamacraw/Winton

Route #15 Starting point: Winton Shopping Centre

Prince Charles Drive, Commonwealth Boulevard, Yamacraw Road, Fox Hill Road, Prince Charles Drive, Robinson Road, Baillou Hill Road, Cumberland Street, Navy Lion Road, Bay Street, Frederick Street, Princess Street, Market Street, Robinson Road, Prince Charles Drive, and return to Winton Shopping Centre

Route #15A Starting point: Winton Shopping Centre Prince Charles Drive, Robinson Road, Baillou Hill Road, Cumberland Street, Navy Lion Road, Bay Street, Frederick Street, Princess Street, Market Street, Robinson Road, Prince Charles Drive, Fox Hill Road, Yamacraw Road, Commonwealth Boulevard, Winton Shopping Centre. Route #16A Starting point: Bacardi Road Carmichael Road, Flamingo Gardens, Carmichael Road, Baillou Hill Road, Cumberland Street, Navy Lion Road, Bay Street, Elizabeth Avenue, Shirley Street, Princess Street, Market Street, Robinson Road, Baillou Hill Road, Carmichael Road, Flamingo Gardens and return to Bacardi Road. Route #21A Starting point: The intersection at Malcolm Road and Baillou Hill Road, Baillou Hill Road (south), Summer Haven, East Street, Bamboo Boulevard, Buttonwood Street, Sapodilla Boulevard, Kennedy Sub-Division, Soldier Road, East Street, East Hill Street depot, East Street, Shirley Street, Princess Street, Duke Street, Bay Street, Elizabeth Avenue, Shirley Street, Market Street, Robinson Road, Baillou Hill Road and return to starting point.
