Nassau, Bahamas - The official opening ceremony of the Domestic Arrivals and Departures and International Departures Terminal of Lynden Pindling International Airport, Oct. 17,2013 took place with great fanfare. Among the attendees were Governor General Sir Arthur Foulkes, Glenys Hanna-Martin, Minister of Transport and Aviation, Prime Minister Perry Christie, Dame Marguerite Pindling; widow of Sir Lynden Pindling, the first Prime Minister of The Bahamas and their children; Monique Johnson, Leslie Pindling, Michelle Sands and Robert "Sandy" Sands.

George Casey, president and CEO of Vantage Airport Group, gave brief remarks at the grand opening ceremony, as did Anthony McKinney, chairman, Nassau Airport Development Company.
