PM Minnis and Officials pay respects at Lying-in-State of the Late Mr. Earl Thompson, Sr.

Prime Minister, Dr. the Hon. Hubert A. Minnis signs the Book of Condolence as he pays respects to Former Parliamentarian, the late Mr. Earl Thompson, Sr., at the House of Assembly this morning. He was followed by Cabinet members and other officials from all sectors of the community. Mr. Thompson lies in state throughout the day until his State-Recognized Funeral tomorrow morning at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral. Looking on are Leader of the Senate, the Hon. NASSAU, The Bahamas - Prime Minister, Dr. the Hon. Hubert Minnis paid his respects at the Lying-in-State this morning of Former Parliamentarian, the late Mr. Earl Thompson, Sr., at the House of Assembly, Parliament Square.  Also paying respects were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance the Hon. Peter Turnquest and other Cabinet Ministers, Leader of the Opposition the Hon. Philip Davis, President of the Senate the Hon. Katherine Forbes-Smith, Speaker of the House of Assembly the Hon. Halson Moultrie, and other officials.  The House Speaker is also pictured greeting family members of Mr. Earl Thompson, Sr. -- his wife Mrs. Venencia Thompson, and son, Earl Thompson, Jr., upon their arrival at the House of Assembly.  There sill be a State-Recognized Funeral for Mr. Thompson on Friday morning, October 5, at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, with interment at the Monastic Cemetery at St. Augustine's.  (BIS Photos/Letisha Henderson)
