STATEMENT

Prime Minister the Most Hon. Dr. Hubert Minnis issued the following statement on the death of the son of the Hon. Romauld Ferreira, the Minister of Environment and Housing:

“I was deeply saddened to learn of the death of the son of the Minister of Environment and Housing, the Hon. Romauld Ferreira.

“As a parent, I cannot imagine the unspeakable pain that Minister Ferreira and his family are going through.

“I have spoken with Minister Ferreira a number of times and assured him of my support as a colleague and as a friend. I know that my Cabinet and Parliamentary colleagues and his staff have expressed the same sentiments. I will visit with the family later today.

“I ask the nation to join me in praying for the Ferreira family’s healing, strength and peace during this very painful time and as we approach the Christmas season. Let us also pray for the soul of the deceased.

“During Advent we pray that the family may find comfort in the Light of Christ who is our hope and our strength especially in the most difficult times.

“We should respect the privacy of the family during this time of loss and grief.
“On behalf of the Government and on my own behalf, and that of my wife, Patricia, and my entire family, I offer my deepest sympathies and condolences to Minister Ferreira, his wife, Erica; and their children.

“Our prayers, support and thoughts are with Minister Ferreira and his family.”
